Eve Arnold - Dies at 99

Eve Arnold the celebrated Magnum photographer has died at 99.

These two quotes of her's stand out for me:
"It's the hardest thing in the world to take the mundane and try to show how special it is."
"If a photographer cares about the people before the lens and is compassionate, much is given. It is the photographer, not the camera, that is the instrument."

Most of us will never photograph the rich and the famous and get the exposure that generates. We can concentrate our attention on what's often under-our-feet, around us, the everyday.
We ignore this rich source at our peril, it can disappear overnight, it may not appear interesting now but in years to come it will prove to be unique.
